A lightweight automation layer that keeps Notion task databases and Google Tasks in sync bidirectionally — changes in either system propagate to the other in near real time, without manual exports or copy-paste workflows.

The Problem

Notion is a powerful planning tool but lacks native mobile task reminders. Google Tasks integrates with Google Calendar and Android natively. Switching between systems meant double-entry and constant drift between the two sources of truth.

02 / Solution

The Build

Built a sync engine using the Notion API and Google Tasks API with a polling loop and conflict resolution logic. Mapped Notion database properties to Google Tasks fields, handled status changes bidirectionally, and deployed it as a persistent background service.

03 / Outcome

The Result

Eliminated double-entry entirely. Tasks created in Notion appear in Google Tasks within 60 seconds and vice versa. Used daily as personal productivity infrastructure.
